We have to inform Govt or other private sector people and also internet and mail community people to give promote this.

If more no of people use kannada in IT then obviously companies like Microsoft can think in this way and try to give solutions in kannada also ... in order to promote and sell their products....

Moreover i was looking for some kannada e-books. When i was in india, i heard that govt had started one new project of converting all major Kannada books (including Jnanapeetha) into electroning form. I dont know how much they have done so for... If any of you know about online kannad-book store so that  i can read the books online then please let me know..

Also I have one problem. I am using XP, and installed the kannada IME and am using kannada perfectly... but when my PC gets locked, then when i try to unlock the system i am unable to type the passoword because my password is in english but my keyboard is sending kannada letters when i type(and now i have to type the ascii letters using Alt+AsciiNo to unlock the system)... if anybody help me in solving this problem i am greatful.

The problem could be like this. You might have set the default input language as Kannada. This setting is available in Control Panel => Reginal and Language Options => Languages => Details => Settings => Default Input Language. Change that to English.

To toggle the input language use Left Alt + Shit key combination. Let us assume that your installed IMEas are English, Hindi and Kannada. To move from one IME to another use Left Alt + Shift keys. If your current IME is Kannada, pressing thee keys, you will be invoking English IME. By pressing this keys again, you will invoke Hindi IME and so on.

In fact, you can have Kannada letters as password and no one can guess it. You will have to cycle thru the IMEs to get Kannada IME and then enter your password. There is also an option to display the language icon for entering the password.
